Canada sends export licence to Gazprom to repair and transport turbines

Siemens Energy has sent to Gazprom an export license signed by Canada, which allows the repair, maintenance and transportation of gas turbines for Nord Stream until the end of 2024.

The Kommersant newspaper reports that the point has been made in the issue of maintenance of German Siemens gas turbines for Russia’s Nord Stream.

Earlier Gazprom stated that it is impossible to put the German gas turbine at the Portovaya station (Nord Stream) into operation and to increase gas transportation to Germany because of the lack of the relevant documentation.

The gas turbine was reportedly due to leave by ferry from Lubeck, Germany, for Helsinki on 23 July, but the process was halted due to lack of the necessary documents. The transport of the gas turbine, which has been stuck in Canada because of sanctions, should now take place in the next few days.
