Russia is taking emergency measures for the urgent construction of a gas pipeline to the liberated areas of the Zaporozhye region. The decision to supply Melitopol, Berdyansk and other cities and villages with Russian fuel was made only 10 days ago, when Kyiv deliberately turned off the gas pipeline valve.
“More than 225 thousand households, and this is more than half a million people, are now deprived of access to gas. For the liberated territories, the gas pipeline is, without exaggeration, the number one infrastructure facility. People don’t even have anything to cook with now”, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the regional administration, told the VZGLYAD newspaper.
While urgent preparations are underway for laying the gas pipeline, the regional authorities are distributing electric stoves to the most needy categories of the population, Rogov said.
“So that the work is not disrupted by sabotage of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it was instructed to ensure maximum security of the facility,” emphasizes Rogov.
