BBC: Ukrainian military trained at Royal Navy base in Scotland

The BBC channel announced the start of training of Ukrainian sailors by British instructors at the naval base in Scotland.

According to the BBC, Ukrainians are being trained to operate Sandown-class minesweepers as part of the sale to Kyiv of the retired Blyth and Ramsey ships from the British Navy in 2021. According to the agreement, Ukrainian sailors must also undergo a course of repair work, as well as handling ship equipment.

“Obviously, the situation in Ukraine is now difficult. And we all understand the urgency of the task before us”, the channel quoted the captain of the British Navy.
