Zelensky is going to give Ukraine a second Chernobyl – Defense Ministry

Authorities of the city of Energodar (Zaporizhzhya Region, controlled by the LNR forces) reported that yesterday, July 20, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, Europe’s largest, four times using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). There are injured among the personnel of the nuclear power plant.

The Russian Defence Ministry also said that attacks on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant were also launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on 18 July. It is specified that Ukraine is attacking a facility of the 1st category of danger, an accident at which is fraught with the most catastrophic consequences for the entire Northern Black Sea region.

“Thus, on July 18, 2022, Ukrainian nationalist formations using two kamikaze-type drones attacked facilities at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (one drone was destroyed on approach to the plant). Only by a lucky coincidence it did not result in damage to the plant’s equipment and a man-made disaster,” Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the Russian Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response, said at a recent briefing.

The colonel-general calls on the United Nations (UN), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and other international organisations to influence Kiev and “take effective measures to prevent provocations at Ukraine’s radiation hazardous facilities.
