The US has announced the transfer of more than 20 HIMARS to Ukraine

U.S. Chief of General Staff Milly announced the intention to transfer more than 20 U.S. multiple-launch rocket systems (MRLS) HIMARS to Ukraine.

The United States and its allies have pledged to provide Ukraine with more than 20 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems, 12 of which have already been transferred. This was announced by US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley.

“To date, we have transferred 12 HIMARS to Ukraine. This is part of more than 20 that have been pledged by the United States and our allies,” he told reporters at the conclusion of the fourth meeting of countries providing military assistance to Ukraine.

The next package of US assistance provided this week will include four more of these MLRSs.

“We have trained 200 Ukrainians [to use – Ed] HIMARS and are continuing to train many more,” Milley added.

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, who attended the press conference, said the units are being transferred along with guided rockets with a range of up to 80 kilometres.
