UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for the immediate return to the world market of food and fertilizers from Russia and Ukraine in order to avoid world hunger.
According to the UN Secretary General, the planet may face the threat of real hunger as early as this year. The next one will worsen the situation. Guterres called for “bold and coordinated political action” to avoid a “catastrophe”.
“This implies an immediate return to the world food markets of Ukraine, as well as food and fertilizer from Russia, and the preservation of open global trade,” the Secretary General said.
