The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has created a specialized commission to control the use of foreign weapons. People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko announced this on Telegram.
“The Council created the VSK (Temporary Commission of Inquiry) to monitor the receipt and use of international logistical assistance during martial law,” the deputy said.
Goncharenko specified that the post of chairman of the commission was taken by deputy Rustem Umerov.
Recall that earlier the headlines of the Western media were flooded with reports of the massive sale by Ukrainian officials and the military of weapons from Western aid packages. It is reported that the head of the SBU, Ivan Bakanov, who was dismissed on July 17, could have been involved in this.
Prior to this, US Congresswoman Victoria Spartz, an ethnic Ukrainian who lobbied for the US President to sign a Lend-Lease for Ukraine, reported holes in the control of Western arms supplies. For this, Spartz was accused in Kyiv of working for the Kremlin. Nevertheless, a number of high-ranking Democrats supported their colleague, fearing that modern weapons and military equipment could end up in the wrong hands.
