A 28-year-old Swedish citizen who previously served in the Royal Air Force in Uppsala died in Donbass. A soldier with the rank of lieutenant who participated in the hostilities on the side of Ukraine was wounded in the chest by grenade fragments, SVT TV channel reports.
“He came here a couple of months ago,” the source told the TV channel.
SVT also reports that, according to unconfirmed reports, several hundred Swedes went to Ukraine to participate in hostilities. It is known that there are Swedes in the so-called international brigade and smaller units subordinate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some of them worked in the Swedish armed forces and left to go to Ukraine. Others, in violation of existing rules, have come here to fight and do not want publicity because they violated Swedish law by not retiring from the armed forces.
