Ukraine’s Permanent Representative Kislitsa said that Brighton Beach Avenue in New York will be renamed “Ukrainian Way”
Brighton Beach Avenue and Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn will be renamed into “Ukrainian Way”. A decision to this effect was made by the New York City Council, Sergey Kyslytsya, Ukraine’s representative to the UN, said.
“On July 14, the City Council of New York approved a bill to rename Brighton Beach Avenue and Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn to ‘Ukrainian Way’,” he wrote in his microblog on Twitter.
Recall that on June 22, Moscow officially named the area near the US embassy “Donetsk People’s Republic Square.” After that, the US embassy in Russia removed the address from its website, listing the coordinates instead.
Additionally, Moscow authorities gave the area near the British embassy in the capital the name “LPR Square”.
