Negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports will be held next week in Istanbul. This was reported on Tuesday by the newspaper Milliyet, citing sources in the Turkish presidential office.
According to the newspaper, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres may participate in the meeting.
It is expected that after the launch of the Istanbul mechanism, 35-40 million tonnes of grain will reach world markets through the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits in the next six to eight months.
At the same time, it is mentioned that ships will start taking grain out of Ukraine within a month after the mechanism between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN starts working in Istanbul. Trade ships from Odessa ports will be the first to depart with its operation.
