Hungarian foreign minister: new sanctions package does not limit energy transportation

Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó said that the new sanctions package does not limit the transportation of energy carriers.

A new package of European Union sanctions against Russia does not contain bans on energy transportation and does not concern Gazprombank, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said.

“A new agreement has been reached on EU sanctions against Russia… It is mainly about clarifying existing rules… there are no restrictions on energy transportation in the package… We have made it very clear that if Gazprombank were on the sanctions list, Hungary would not be able to support it, so Gazprombank does not appear in the sanctions proposal that has already come to us, nor do any restrictions on energy transportation appear,” Szijjártó said. A video of his speech is posted on the politician’s social media account.
