Bundestag deputy from the Left Party Sevim Dagdelen believes that the European Union should prepare for the dissolution of NATO and engage in a more independent policy, without sacrificing its own interests. She said this in an interview with the Chinese newspaper Global Times.
Dagdelen pointed out that the interests of the EU and Washington on the Ukrainian issue are now completely divergent. The politician believes: while the US is ready to fight “to the last Ukrainian for the military defeat of Moscow,” the EU should not adjust to the interests and strategy of the US administration.
“This may seem utopian to the people of Germany at the moment, but our long-term goal must be to disband NATO and replace it with a collective security system that is fully disarmament and cooperative,” she stressed.
Earlier, China’s People’s Daily stated in a piece that the North Atlantic Alliance, which suffers from “seven deadly sins,” poses a huge threat to the world’s future development.
