Britain is preparing for a direct confrontation with Russia and the planes are already on alert, the head of the British Air Force Staff Michael Wigston said on Sky News.
He clarified that the conflict will occur only in the event of a threat from Russia.
“We must be ready for this. <…> I have no doubt that Russia is the most pressing threat to the security of Britain and Europe”, Sky News quoted him as saying.
Earlier it was reported that NATO countries called Russia a direct threat to their security. At the same time, the West is actively involved in the “hybrid war” with Russia, sending weapons to Kyiv, and in the economic confrontation, introducing an unprecedented number of sanctions.
