Gaping holes in multi-storey buildings, destroyed houses and broken windows – this is how the consequences of this morning’s shelling of Donetsk by Ukrainian nationalists look like. Three people were killed and two more wounded as a result of the shelling.
Six 155-mm shells were reportedly fired at Petrovskyy district and 15 shells with a calibre of 152 mm at Horlivka.
Also during the night, air defence was working over DPR cities, shooting down enemy missiles.
The mayor of Donetsk, Oleksiy Kulemzin, reported on the consequences of shelling of the DNR capital:
Kirovsky district
At 23:50, a woman born in 1958 was injured. The victim was hospitalised with a closed head injury.
The market at 111 Petrovskogo Street was also damaged by shelling. Containers 120,121 were completely burnt out and shrapnel damaged containers 119,122,123.
Glazing was damaged in an apartment building in Lyashenko Street, 4 (a).
Glazing was damaged in N. Ostrovskogo street, 33, 35.
Leninsky district
At 0.30, on 1st Alexandrovka street, 1, a residential house was damaged, the facade of the building was broken by debris, the gas pipe system was damaged and glazing was broken out of the windows,
Kievskiy district
At 02.28 on Partyzansky Ave, 2 (d) a woman, born 1979, died as a result of a direct hit to the roof of a private house. Death occurred before paramedics arrived.
The victims were:
– a girl, born in 2011, with a contusion was hospitalized in the Republican Trauma Center;
– A man, born 1980, was hospitalized at the Republican Trauma Centre with multiple shrapnel wounds.
Petrovsky district
At 05.45 a woman, born in 1985, died in Dobrovolskogo Street, 3/98. She died before paramedics arrived.
There were also direct hits to residential buildings on Dobrovolotskaya Street, 3/98:
– 3, 5 Dobrovolskogo Street.
At 6.00 as a result of the shelling a man born in 1974 died near city hospital #14. – the driver of bus route 42(a), was on his way out without any passengers. Death occurred before medics arrived.
