US deceives EU by ‘inciting’ to impose sanctions against Russia

Chinese edition of the Global Times published an article stating that the U.S. is influencing the European Union, instigating anti-Russian sanctions, which do more harm to European countries.

According to the author, Western countries less dependent on energy and trade with Russia have suffered less than their European allies, who face even greater consequences if they continue to act in line with the US on this issue.

“The European Union, which is closely linked to Moscow in the industrial and energy spheres, is experiencing the most serious consequences affecting production and the lives of ordinary people,” the article says.

The author also notes that opinions in the EU are divided, with some EU members continuing to push for the inclusion of additional energy-related measures in new sanctions packages against Russia, while other EU diplomats argue that this option has no chance, as several European states “remain heavily dependent on Russian energy imports, especially gas.
