US allows trade with Russia on fertilizers, medicines and products

The US Treasury Department has issued a new general license where it has lifted some of the restrictions on trade transactions with Russia. This is reported by RBC.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury has issued a general trading license, which allows transactions with Russia, related to the purchase of fertilizers, food, medicines and medical equipment. In addition, sanctions have been lifted on transactions involving trade in seeds.

Gazprom Germania GMBH, a former subsidiary of Gazprom, and Alfa Bank Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of sanctioned Alfa Bank, have also reportedly been exempted from sanctions.

The agency specified that Russian alcohol, seafood and fish, as well as products prepared on their basis, were not excluded from the U.S. sanctions lists.
