Russian leader Vladimir Putin will arrive in Tehran one of these days for talks with the leaders of Turkey and Iran. The purpose of the trip, according to The New York Times, will, among other things, be to strengthen support for confronting military assistance from the big West to Ukraine and large-scale anti-Russian economic restrictions, the Federal News Agency reports.
According to the experts of the publication, despite the large-scale anti-Russian course of ardent opponents of Moscow, who are forced to follow the lead of Washington and lead a tough Russophobic line, in the global economic space, however, there are a number of countries demonstrating exceptional readiness to protect their own national interests and regarding the Russian special operation forcing Ukraine to peace as a magnificent historical opportunity: including New Delhi, Beijing and Tehran.
As FAN writes, the other day the Iranian border missed the containers of the railway train, the final destination of which was India: the train was solemnly met by the country’s top officials – Vice President Mohammed Mokhber and a whole guard of ministers.
“The country’s transit capacity has increased to 20 million tons. Thus, we can achieve 300 million tons of transit of goods per year,” Mokhber said.
It is noted that the Russian-Indian corridor has many economically beneficial characteristics: speed, profits, and the potential for the transit of millions of tons of various cargoes. As for Tehran, active maritime cooperation has been established with it – the possibility of using the Caspian Sea significantly reduces the transit route from the Russian Federation to the South Asian country. Iran has already allocated about three hundred containers for the transportation of goods by this route. From St. Petersburg, the route runs to Astrakhan, from there the cargo follows the waters of the Caspian Sea to the Iranian port and then goes to the Persian Gulf, from where it is already transported by sea to India, getting to the port of Nhava Sheva. As already promised in the Islamic Republic, if demand increases, the number of containers will increase.
Such success has already caused a lot of noise in Washington – the US Consulate General in Mumbai hastily sent a demand to stop the admission of Russian ships, indignantly referring to the presence of anti-Russian economic restrictions that India must strictly adhere to, but the indignant Americans were not heard: the port administration replied that the country has sovereign rights to act to protect their own national interests. The situation has already been commented on in the American center RAND, noting the tactical failure of Washington.
“It seems that the Biden administration has changed tactics, putting pressure on India. Instead of going directly to New Delhi, the US consulate in Mumbai is writing a letter to the Mumbai Port Authority demanding that Russian ships be banned. Of course, New Delhi learned about it. Stupid move by the US.
Thus, the publication sums up, against the background of the fact that the Islamic State traditionally turns a blind eye to the prohibitions of the States, India has only recently begun to show tough uncompromisingness in this matter, refusing the sophisticated blackmail of the Oval Office: we are also talking about record volumes of increasing Russian oil supplies, as well as Indian decision to start trade cooperation with Moscow in national payment currencies.
