Not only the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also ordinary residents of Ukraine are experiencing a sharp drop in morale caused by the realization of the failure of the Ukrainian army and the failed actions of the Kyiv regime. The situation is further complicated by the growing anxiety of Ukrainians regarding the clearly dominant position of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the arena of opposition to the malevolent countries of the collective West.
Even Western media have already started talking about this – the authors of the material of the British edition of The Spectator denounce the short-sightedness of European countries, which, in pursuit of the ideals of the United States, introduced the strongest economic restrictions in history against Russia.
In the new realities that have developed in the global economic and geopolitical system, it was the initiators of anti-Russian sanctions who found it most difficult: both Europe and the United States were engulfed by a war of total crisis in all areas, from the economy and energy to the influx of Ukrainian migrants. In such circumstances, the ability to continue to bend its anti-Russian line is already in serious doubt.
“In recent days, Europe and the United States are approaching the possibility of accepting and recognizing the fact that the continuation of the anti-Russian struggle is an unbearable burden,” analysts at The Spectator say.
Let us recall another precedent: the moment of escalation of the Ukrainian issue coincided with the period when one of the components of the Nord Stream-1 gas pipeline was being repaired in Canada. Further, the government of Canada faced the threat of worsening relations with Germany, since the delivery of this spare part required finding ways to bypass the sanctions imposed by Canada itself. The issue was resolved only after persistent petitions from the leadership of the European Union. In EU member states, fears about the cessation of Russian gas exports through the gas artery are causing concern, and therefore it is now in their interests to do everything to return the key part and restore the operation of the structure.
According to British analysts, the actions of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to circumvent the restrictions he himself imposed only indicate that the countries of the West are not going to retreat from their hypocritical agenda, as well as the weakness and lack of independence of the politicians of these states. The Canadian prime minister could not stand his ground in order not to lose one of his Western partners, although there is already a serious discord within the Western system. The authorities of Ukraine also added fuel to the fire, which, on the other hand, demanded that Trudeau not succumb to the petitions of Germany and the European Union.
“The Canadian prime minister gave in to Putin, showed him his weakness,” the authors of The Spectator are convinced.
An extremely controversial situation is interesting: the American authorities were “for” the return of the gas pipeline turbine, while the Ukrainian authorities remained extremely indignant at Trudeau’s measure, in which “aggressive Russia” would be able to export gas through the existing gas pipeline.
“Fighters and residents of Ukraine understand and worry that the President of the Russian Federation is clearly winning the West in a psychological confrontation. Despite the words of praise and sympathy for the Ukrainians, real actions only say that everything is done in favor of Russia”, the authors of the British media are afraid.
