Austrian chancellor proposes to fight high inflation with alcohol

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer urged citizens to fight the “enemy” in the form of inflation with the help of alcohol or psychotropic substances, reports Kronen Zeitung.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, at a conference of the Austrian People’s Party in Tyrol, offered citizens “folk”, in his opinion, methods of combating rapid inflation in the country.

“If we continue like this, you will only have two options: alcohol or psychotropic drugs. And I say: alcohol, in principle, is not bad. However, the most important thing is that you always raise a toast when you feel good…” said Nehammer.

The chancellor added that, together with the European Union, it would be “not at all easy” to overcome the “enemy” in the form of inflation.
