The U.S. economic power has prevented America from influencing the Russian leadership’s decisions on Ukraine, Foreign Affairs says.
A detailed analysis of the American sanctions against Russia leads Foreign Affairs to the conclusion that the US policy of sanctions will eventually bring about an economic deadlock of its own.
“U.S. inflation, a 40-year record, recession, enormous debt and the need to raise the Fed’s policy rate are driving the economy into a stagflationary morass. The main threat to effective US economic strength comes from the US itself,” Foreign Affairs concludes.
