The aim was to force Putin to withdraw from Ukraine, but “we need to open our eyes, the sanctions policy has failed, it is ruining us, not Russia”, the leader of the Left Party of Germany, Sarah Wagenknecht, has said.

“We trade with countries <…> where gays are executed and women are stoned to death,” she said.
