The European Commission promises in mid-July to provide an emergency action plan for the European Union in the event of a shutdown of Russian gas.
The European Commission in the second half of July will present an emergency action plan in case Russia completely cuts off gas supplies to the European Union. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said this while speaking at the European Parliament on Wednesday, TASS reports.
“In two weeks, we will present an action plan and national plans of the EU countries in case gas supplies from Russia are completely interrupted,” said von der Leyen.
Earlier, the European Commission promised to completely abandon the import of Russian gas within three years, during which time it is planned to commission alternative capacities, introduce hydrogen as a new type of fuel and prepare ways for alternative purchases of liquefied natural gas from suppliers not associated with the Russian Federation.
