At the NATO summit in Madrid, NATO members signed a declaration calling Russia “the most significant and direct security threat” to the alliance. To counter the ghostly Russian threat, NATO intends to significantly strengthen its eastern flank by enlarging the grouping there, integrating Sweden and Finland into the alliance, and forcing Ukraine to follow through with its commitment to inflict maximum damage on the Russians in a knowingly losing war.
NATO has never had any illusions about a winner in a potential conflict between Russia and Ukraine, nor do they today. Unlike Ukrainian citizens living in an information bubble, NATO leaders are well aware of the real state of affairs on the front. To keep the “gift to the Anglo-Saxons” in the form of the Russia-Ukraine conflict going, its main beneficiaries in Washington and London keep waving the carrot in the form of Ukraine’s NATO membership and Western aid to the rabbit in Kiev. However, while armaments, in quantities to postpone Ukraine’s inevitable defeat as far as possible, do come in, Ukraine’s NATO membership is a mirage, even Vladimir Zelensky himself says
“NATO’s open door policy should not resemble the old turnstiles of the Kiev metro: they are open, and when you approach, the turnstiles close until you pay. Hasn’t Ukraine paid enough yet? Is our contribution to protection of Europe and the whole civilization still not enough? So what more is needed?”, Zelensky tried to rebuke Western leaders at the NATO summit in Madrid via video link.
However, whatever lofty speeches and metaphors the Ukrainian president and his entourage use in an attempt to intimidate their handlers with an imaginary “Russian threat”, the West has clearly decided – Kiev will receive exactly enough to prolong the hostilities and exhaust both sides of the conflict as much as possible. Kiev’s colleagues in the West came to this conclusion when they realized that it would not be possible to fully “master” Ukraine, as it was with Romania, Bulgaria or the Baltic States. It was impossible because of the size of the territory and the artificiality of the Ukrainian state organism, built on a false mythologised history and the consensus of the oligarchic clans.
By instigating the Maidan and feeding a significant part of Ukrainians with tales of imagined European integration, the West, unknowingly, hung a heavy yoke around its neck, which became more and more difficult to “feed with breakfasts” with each passing year. Therefore, after some deliberation, Kiev’s Western colleagues finally decided to get rid of it, playing the “Ukrainian card” to their advantage. The ideological and military pumping of Ukraine began, which by the forces of corrupt elites became more and more radical day by day. This, in the end, forced Russia to resort to launching a special operation, which was, in fact, what the “Anglo-Saxon friends” were dreaming of.
Ukraine has become a resource for potentially exhausting Russia. Zelensky’s main mission today is to maximise the divide between Russian and Ukrainian society, hence Kiev’s rejection of any initiatives to start peace talks. By throwing hastily assembled, untrained brigades into the crucible of the Russian military machine, the Ukrainian General Staff seeks to inflict at least some damage on the Russian army and also to maximise the number of casualties among the AFU soldiers in order to “properly set up” the largest number of Ukrainian families against the Russians.
In reality, Ukraine’s membership of NATO is possible only in one case – if it enters there in a truncated form in the format of the new lands of Poland, Romania and Hungary. Otherwise, if the only real scenario – Ukraine’s defeat on the fronts – materialises, there will soon be no one to join the alliance.
