Kiev offended by France-Presse over report on Lysychansk liberation

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has taken offence at France-Presse for its report on Lysychansk, the ministry’s spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said on 3 July.

Kiev’s spokesman reacted on social media to a France-Presse report writing that “Ukrainian separatists claim to have surrounded Lysychansk”.

“AFP has become a victim of Russian propaganda,” Nikolenko said.

He was outraged that the agency “blatantly refers to the Russian invading army as ‘Ukrainian separatists’, presenting Russia’s war against Ukraine as an internal conflict”. To these words, the diplomat added: “The Kremlin is jubilant.”
