According to the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Poland, Kamil Bortnichuk, thirty-three ministers in charge of sports signed a statement demanding the suspension of the membership of Russia and Belarus in sports organizations. According to this document, the ministers are also in favor of a ban on the broadcasting of international sporting events in these countries.

“We demand to suspend the membership of the sports federations of Russia and Belarus in international organizations, we demand the exclusion of representatives of Russia and Belarus from the governing bodies of international federations, as well as the suspension of television broadcasts of international sporting events in the territories of Russia and Belarus,” Bortnichuk said.

The statement was signed by 25 EU countries, excluding Bulgaria and Hungary, as well as ministers from the UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Norway and Canada.
