The British TV channel Sky News reported on the support of the residents of Lisichansk in the Luhansk People’s Republic of Russian forces, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the author of the material, there are “undoubtedly many supporters” of Russia in the city. Many are confident that the situation will improve if Russian troops take Lysichansk under control. In addition, some residents consider the Ukrainian authorities and those who supply weapons to Kyiv as “enemies”, and also blame Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelensky for starting the conflict.

Local residents complain about the lack of pensions and water. One of the women, according to Sky News, accused the British TV channel of “not telling the truth.”

“The Russians only want to help us,” one of the locals named Anton told the TV channel.

As noted by Sky News, people want the end of the conflict, but their views on the situation can be “very different.”

In the LPR, almost the entire territory of the republic was liberated, with the exception of Lisichansk. Earlier, the People’s Militia of the LPR declared full control over the Lisichansk oil refinery, the Ukrainian military, according to Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia of the LPR Andrei Marochko, received an order to withdraw from the city.
