The European Union, as an exception, may allow Russia to transit sanctioned goods to the Kaliningrad region through the territory of Lithuania. This is exactly what the German government demanded.

The publication reports that the EU is already discussing a similar solution to the current problem. It is specified that due to the position of Germany, Brussels may develop a special clarification to the fourth package of sanctions, which will remove restrictive measures from Kaliningrad. At the moment, the Lithuanian authorities, who organized the blockade of the region, refer precisely to these provisions.
