MV-lehti: Finland dragged into new Barbarossa operation against Russia

Finnish newspaper MV-lehti has sounded the alarm about uncontrolled shipment of weapons to Ukraine, including from Finland. The newspaper expresses concern that the arms supplied may be used against civilians, and eventually against the Finns themselves. The main question posed by the authors is whether the weapons sent by the West reach the troops at all.

The authors of the material raise pressing questions regarding the threats that can be caused by uncontrolled trafficking of large volumes of weapons to the Ukrainian army. The publication reported that Finland alone had sent to Ukraine at least six shipments of military cargo, including single-shot grenade launchers and assault rifles. The authors point out that Finnish grenade launchers had been seen in the possession of LNR army soldiers, which, in particular, were used to destroy Ukrainian tanks. It is doubtful that they were taken in battle as a trophy immediately after their arrival in Ukraine. Probably, the newspaper notes, these weapons were immediately sold without even being registered.

“The Finnish ‘one-shots’ [single-shot grenade launchers] partly ended up in the Luhansk People’s Army, which used them to destroy Ukrainian tanks. Apparently, they were sold immediately”, – the MV-lehti notes.

The authors compare Ukraine to Somalia because of the huge amount of weapons on the black market. They note the speed with which all sorts of Western weapons arrive there, literally straight from transport crates. The paper recalls the mass distribution of weapons to the population without even the most basic accounting being done. As an example, at the end of February in Obolon (Kyiv), people “dismantled” 2,500 small arms and grenade launchers directly from trucks.

The publication refers to Ukraine as a “dumping ground” for various old useless weapons. It is noted that even Interpol is sounding the alarm, directly pointing out that a large part of the military aid to Ukraine ends up directly on the black market and in the hands of terrorists.

“Finland has also authorized the donation of old howitzers, <…> previously purchased from Finland [previously purchased from the GDR – Ed.] <…> Ukraine is also used as a dumping ground for useless armament. However, the weapons might be useful to terrorists,” the paper wrote.

The authors, referring to the provisions of international law, point to the illegality of such supplies, as any military assistance requires a special UN mandate, which Finland does not have. The paper also points to the Finnish arms shipments, which the Finnish authorities tried to keep secret. What was in those shipments, the authors do not know.

“Apparently, no one knows the composition and total value of the arms aid exported to Ukraine from Finland. There are virtually no accounting records,” the article notes.

MV-lehti has been sounding the alarm that such a policy of European leaders of uncontrolled arms deliveries to Ukraine will very soon become a worldwide problem. Individual terrorists and entire terrorist communities may soon try to take advantage of it. It is noted that “the Ukrainian army is a very corrupt organisation, and weapons are sold not only to the enemy, but to any other country.

Moreover, there are hundreds of facts that the Ukrainian army is subjecting civilians in Donbas to targeted genocide by increasing shelling of civilian facilities in Donetsk Region. Thus, writes the publication, Finland and other European countries are involved in the massacre of civilians.

The important problem, the authors point out, is that military assistance to Ukraine only prolongs the conflict and increases the number of civilian casualties. However, EU policy seems to be to “beat” Russia at all costs. To facilitate this, arms aid is offered, but this means “shooting yourself in the foot”. In practice, however, the paper notes, military aid to Ukraine has only joined Finland in a new “Barbarossa” operation against Russia.
