Germany began to collect facts confirming the infringement of Russian Germans and Russian-speaking people.
Bundestag deputy Yevgeny Schmidt said this in an interview with RIA Novosti:
“We have already received a number of appeals from citizens who are being persecuted or otherwise disadvantaged because of the Russian language or because of their country of origin. So we are collecting facts now. There are many of them.”
Earlier, the German Federal Republic had decided to create an NGO to prevent discrimination and isolation of Russian Germans and Russian-speaking fellow citizens (VADAR). Schmidt became deputy head of the organisation.
