A new NATO declaration has named Russia as the main security threat to the alliance, RIA Novosti reported.
NATO’s new 2030 Strategic Concept, adopted by the alliance’s leaders at the Madrid summit, officially declares Russia as a “direct security threat.”
“Russia poses the most important and direct threat to the security of allies for peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area,” the agency quoted the document as saying.
NATO’s 2010 vision stated a desire to develop a strategic partnership with Russia in arms control, combating terrorism, drug trafficking, and piracy.
