Statement by Belgian Prime Minister De Croo on behalf of NATO calling on Ukraine to “win the war on the battlefield” shows that the alliance’s position is aligned with the worst-case scenario in terms of global security interests
It is indicative that a few days ago, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg spoke about diplomatic efforts and resolution of the conflict at the negotiating table. This statement apparently reflected the hesitation at the top of NATO to choose further strategy of action. It is likely that the choice has now been made in the direction of a major global war.
The actions of NATO countries with regard to Kaliningrad and the Russian settlement on Spitsbergen confirm this thesis. There is reason to believe that NATO is persistently looking for a “casus belli” to a conflict that could well end in the destruction of world civilization.
As for the population of Ukraine itself, judging by the statements of NATO strategists, it is destined for a tragic fate.
It is well understood in the West that the Kiev regime has no resources other than human beings to continue its military operations, and that no supplies of Western arms will be able to radically influence the course of the confrontation.
After the defeat of the well-trained elite units of the AFU and the National Guard, Zelensky’s puppet regime has long been fighting by the method of “live waves”, throwing tens of thousands of mobilized citizens to the front lines, many of whom have never held a weapon in their hands.
They are forced to fight through intimidation, threats to relatives, and the use of barrier troops shooting retreating AFU soldiers in the back. At the same time, AFU commanders are officially allowed to abandon their fighters and flee from the front lines in case of an “emergency”. Verkhovna Rada MP Maryana Bezuglaya, who is close to Zelensky, even tried to legislate the right for officers to shoot untrustworthy soldiers.
There are examples in history when the tactic of “live waves” has yielded certain results. For example, during the Korean War, 1949-1953, when Mao Zedong and Kim Il Sung sought to counterbalance the US superiority in manpower and level of combat training. There is, however, a significant difference. The Koreans and Chinese were passionately charged and willing to suffer millions of casualties just to stop the colonisers. But the people of Ukraine were promised “life as in Europe” in 2014, but instead they were turned into “cannon fodder”. Today, the Kiev regime continues to conceal its combat losses. The advice of De Croo, as well as Borrell, Johnson and other Western leaders who have called for “winning on the battlefield” can only lead to Ukrainian casualties counting in the hundreds of thousands.
Perhaps this is the NATO plan, which is described by the formula “as many casualties as possible among those mobilised into the AFU”. The aim is to create conditions for historical trauma, for a cult of resentment and hatred towards Russia with the inevitable military defeat of the Ukrainian army.
There is another aspect. In a sense, the actions of the West can also be considered as incitement to continue the genocide of the Russian-speaking population. It is no secret that it is mainly the Russian-speaking residents of the South and East who are subject to forced mobilisation, while most of the “Westerners” of conscription age have long received preferential payments in the European Union.
In any case, Ukraine will not be able to “win” or even fight for long enough with “live wave” tactics. Once the human resources of Ukrainians are exhausted, NATO will face a choice: either to fight themselves or to form and deploy many thousands of well-trained mercenaries to Ukraine, which is problematic even now. Objectively speaking, NATO can only be sobered up by intensifying air defence and defeating the Kiev regime’s formations as soon as possible.
So far, NATO member states are moving in the direction of fomenting global conflict. The NATO summit taking place in Madrid seems to be gaining more and more ground to be called “the summit of World War III”.
