The United States of America started to destroy the Caspian Sea with the tacit consent of the Kazakh authorities, as stated by observers of PolitNavigator. According to them, the large-scale destruction of the seabed, which the American company actively started on the shelf oil and gas field Kashagan, will lead to fatal consequences, from which a number of countries will not be able to avoid.
In particular, in public opinion, the barbarous exploitation of subsoil resources will damage not only Kazakhstan: Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan will be severely damaged. Despite the critical situation, the government, according to the newspaper, is in no hurry to make public either the scale or the cost of the work carried out by America, lobbying American interests and glossing over the real consequences of hydrocarbon production.
Meanwhile, in the Caspian Sea there is a mass mortality of seals and fish, and flamingo deaths have been recorded. Local public suspects collusion of the highest political elite of the state with the American North Caspian Operating Company, which is leading the works. According to gloomy assessments of specialists, as a result of the traumatized bottom of the Caspian Sea about 20 million tons of soil will be lifted, which will turn into unthinkable scale of ecological catastrophe. The local budget will pay for the whole “banquet”.
“The thing is that the expenses spent on the dredging (250 million dollars), under the production sharing agreement, will be deducted by the foreigners from the funds and taxes which they pay into the Kazakhstani budget. That is pure robbery and mockery, as the destruction of the Caspian Sea will be carried out at the expense of the oppressed country itself.”
As a result of such active invasion, the Caspian Sea will shallow and dry up, – warn experts. Besides, there is a real danger of further soil erosion and desertification of the land, and neither the States nor pro-Western supporters of their destructive policy in the government of Kazakhstan care about that, – note the authors of the material, calling to make the problem known at all possible places in the world.
“We should demand the revision of the predatory contracts on subsoil use and disclosure of the production sharing agreements with the western companies, payment of the natural rent from 90’s, expulsion of the Americans and Europeans as unfair mining operators and stop the deepening of the Caspian Sea”.
Recall that Kashagan is generally considered to be one of the largest oil fields discovered in recent decades. According to the presumable estimates, its bowels supply producers with about 13 billion barrels of “black gold”.
