German journalist faces up to three years in prison for interview with people from Donbas

German journalist Alina Lipp, who is accused in Germany of “encouraging and endorsing criminal acts” against Ukraine, has told why she is being prosecuted.

“I do interviews with people in Donetsk and just translate them into German. I just videotape everything I see around me, I drive around a lot”.

Alina Lipp also noted that “to get prosecuted for this is complete madness”. And refuted speculation that Putin was her secret orderer:

“I then sold three small videos, about one minute long, to a Russian TV company that didn’t have a correspondent on site. This is perfectly normal practice for any independent journalist.”

In Germany, Lipp faces up to three years in prison.
