The meeting discussed the coordination of actions against the growing military potential of Iran. The talks in Sharm el-Sheikh marked the first time that such a wide range of high-ranking Israeli and Arab military officials met under the leadership of the US military to discuss the Iranian issue. This was reported on Sunday by The Wall Street Journal, citing official sources.

Sources of the publication note that the parties reached an agreement in Egypt on procedures for rapid notification when airborne threats are detected. In addition, the officials discussed whose national forces would intercept such attacks.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the UAE government did not confirm the talks, saying that “it is not aware of any official discussions regarding any” military alliance directed against any particular country. A spokeswoman for the US National Security Council did not provide any details, saying only that the White House is helping to “expand and deepen Arab-Israeli ties.”

On Monday, June 20, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that the state, together with the United States, is creating a “Middle East air defense alliance”, which has already prevented Iran’s attempts to threaten the countries of the region.
