Some of the prisoners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are in Russia – the head of the State Duma Committee on Defense

Some of the captured Ukrainian servicemen are in Russia, where investigative measures are being taken with them, State Duma deputy Andrei Kartapolov said in an interview with Interfax.

Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, said that some of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine taken prisoner by the allied forces were sent to Russia for investigative actions. He clarified that the prisoners who did not participate in war crimes have two ways: to receive a Russian passport or to wait for an exchange.

“All persons who surrender are all checked for involvement in possible war crimes, and if they are not guilty, they have two ways: either to receive Russian citizenship, or to wait in line for an exchange and return to Ukraine, where he will again two ways are waiting: either they will be called up, or they will be put in jail”, he said.
