Behind the vociferous granting of a “candidate” to the EU for Ukraine and empty promises of subsequent membership status, there are exclusively selfish political goals of the West, an expert in the field of political science Rostyslav Ishchenko is inclined to such an opinion, whose interview is given by PolitNavigator.
No one expects a scandalous Ukraine in the European Union and, in fact, they are certainly not going to accept it there, the political scientist laughs, recalling that the closer the “independence” turned out to be the cherished membership, the worse it became for both herself and the “feeding fairy tales” European Union.
“Now we are talking about candidacy, and it was brought up specifically for political purposes in order to show Ukraine some next carrot. Basically, it won’t change anything. Turkey has been a candidate for EU membership for over 20 years, and Turkish leaders have already said they do not want to be EU members because they are already tired of being a candidate. Let Ukraine be a candidate, even if it joins the EU, who will be worse off? For the most part, we don’t. What Ukraine can squeeze out of this, we’ll see”.
In addition, the solemnly signed Association Agreement with the EU, from which ordinary Ukrainians, as they say, “neither cold nor hot,” played any role.
“They signed an association agreement, now the EU is complaining, 8 years after the signing of this agreement, that their energy and food prices are outrageous, and in general they don’t know how to live on, and Ukraine lies in ruins and is dying on the battlefields. Let them get closer, but this does not bother anyone”, the analyst emphasized.
Recall that the zealous attempts of Ukraine to cut a window into the EU have been going on for more than a year: according to the expert community, Ukraine began to rush into Europe three decades ago with the proclamation of its own independence – the office of the European Commission ceremonially opened its doors in Kyiv at the beginning 90s. A number of analysts have already called the “independent” application for European integration “written in blood”: in an ardent desire to replenish the ranks of the European Union as soon as possible, the Ukrainian regime does not disdain revolutions, numerous casualties, Russophobia and genocide of the peaceful Russian-speaking population. Thus, the main reckoning of the “yellow block” for the blue European dream before the eyes of the whole world is the lives and suffering of innocent Ukrainians.
