According to the survey, over 80% of American citizens are dissatisfied with the situation in the country, agreeing that things are “going badly.” 19% were in favor of a positive picture in the US.

CBS reportedly conducted the study in the wake of a controversial U.S. Supreme Court decision – June 24-25 – overturning constitutional guarantees for abortion. The survey participants were asked to speak in detail about the decision of the court, as well as about the situation in the country as a whole.

“The fact that the Democrats in particular disapprove of this decision has prompted them to be more critical of how things are going in the country as a whole. This, in turn, further reduced the overall figure. To date, only 19% of Americans believe that things are going well in the country”, concludes the study.
