Director of the Government Office for the Coordination of European Integration of Ukraine Natalya Forsyuk said that the country is unlikely to join the European Union in the next 7 years, writes “Strana”. According to her, the European integration of Ukraine is possible only not earlier than 2029.

“Before, it is unlikely because of the huge amount of legislation that needs to be adopted and implemented. We must live according to European laws,” said Forsyuk.

At the same time, from the point of view of a representative of the office for coordinating the European integration of Ukraine, the negotiations themselves on the accession of the Ukrainian side to the association can start at the beginning of 2023.

EU leaders agreed to give Ukraine and Moldova the status of candidates for joining the union at the June 23 summit. This decision was openly supported by a number of heads of European states. However, the corresponding step does not guarantee an accelerated accession of Kyiv or Chisinau to the European Union. Moreover, a number of media have repeatedly pointed out that the process of integration of the same Ukraine may take more than 10 years.
