The Prime Minister of Portugal predicted the collapse of the European Union, if Ukraine is included in its ranks, Lusa reports.
On Wednesday, June 22, Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa, during parliamentary debates, when the talk turned to granting candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova, said that Ukraine’s inclusion in the EU could lead to its collapse, not strengthening.
“In order to be taken seriously and be consistent, the EU needs a new institutional and budgetary architecture, under the fear that this integration will not be a strengthening of the European Union, but its collapse, not support for Ukraine, but a trap for Ukraine,” the prime minister said.
