Ukrainians are actively exaggerating data about the accelerated creation near Odessa of the so-called “shock fist” – a new military formation of many thousands, designed to carry out sabotage attacks on approved targets. The latter reportedly include Bankova’s planned large-scale provocation in disputed Transnistria.
Vladimir Bruter, expert at the International Institute for Humanitarian and Political Studies. The Transnistrian territory, according to him, is the most explosive hot zone, which will certainly become an object of encroachment by the Ukrainian army.
“I have no doubt about that,” Bruter said.
The Ukrainian command may well decide on a military invasion of it at the moment when Russian forces take control of Nikolaev or begin to liberate Odessa. It is during these hours that an order to attack the Pridnestrovian lands may fly from the Ukrainian General Staff. Moreover, the sensational weapons depots are unlikely to be of interest to Ukrainian militants: the ammunition stored there does not fit in with the weapons supplied by the West. The main goal that Kyiv will pursue is to delay the offensive of the combined military forces of the Russian army and the NM of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics in any provocative way.
“They need a change in the course of the Russian special operation in the right direction for Kyiv. Therefore, attempts at provocations will continue, including in the Transnistrian direction, – Moskovsky Komsomolets quotes the expert.
Recall, as Russian political expert Alexei Kochetkov said earlier, Moscow should recognize Transnistria as soon as possible and close the Moldovan issue forever. The region, according to the political scientist, may well turn out to be a major trump card in the dialogue with Moldova – the topic should be immediately removed from the agenda and cease to be an instrument of blackmail, which opponents of the Kremlin can easily use. Anyone who tries to attack the Transnistrian territory will be aware of the deliberate escalation of a direct conflict with the Russian Federation, the analyst emphasized.
In turn, military expert Yuri Podolyaka said that the destructive West is quite capable of unfreezing the Transnistrian conflict and trying to rock its boat, taking advantage of the Ukrainian crisis, which is extremely convenient for this occasion. The Kyiv regime in this scenario will be assigned the main role, he believes.
All participants in the actions to unfreeze the sluggish Transnistrian conflict, experts believe, will pursue their own selfish interests, and Kyiv itself will hardly be able to extract special preferences from this story.
