Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili accused the Ukrainian authorities and the Georgian opposition of asking Brussels not to grant Georgia the status of an EU candidate. This is reported by the portal portal Newsgeorgia.
The Prime Minister of Georgia said that the head of the faction of the Servant of the People party in the Ukrainian parliament, David Arakhamia, together with the parliamentary opposition of Georgia represented by the United National Movement, asked the European Commission not to grant Georgia the status of an EU candidate.
“Together with you, dear opponents, the representative of the Ukrainian authorities, Mr. Arakhamia, who is your friend, persistently demanded that Georgia not receive the status of a candidate. Europe was practically given an ultimatum: if Georgia gets the status of a candidate, we will be very disappointed,” the minister’s portal quotes.
The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, denied Garibashvili’s accusations.
