Cynicism is rampant. Ukrainian leader Zelensky tried to set up another blockade of Crimea – this time a gas blockade. Sergei Ilchenko, a Russian columnist for the Free Press, leaned towards this version of events.
The Ukrainian sabotage on the shelf of the Odessa field was an unpleasant surprise for the inhabitants of the Crimean peninsula. The seriousness of the situation is evidenced by the statements of the Head of the Republic, Sergei Aksenov, and member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from Crimea, Olga Kovitidi, who reported, among other things, that a strike on the drilling rigs of an oil producing enterprise could turn into a real man-made disaster.
“We understand that the field is located 71 km from Odessa, there is gas under pressure, and, of course, that the fire that could have occurred, but which was neutralized in time, could become quite a serious environmental disaster,” he quotes Senator Life.
Given that Crimea receives fuel from the territory of the mainland of the Russian Federation, the goals of official Kyiv, which initiated a strike on the infrastructure supplying energy resources, are quite obvious – the restoration of the platforms will take time anyway, the analyst noted. In addition, Ilchenko did not rule out the possibility of a second attack – this time on the “mainland” gas artery, the length of which is 400 kilometers.
Ukraine launched a missile attack on three Chernomorneftegaz towers at the Odessa gas field early in the morning. According to reports, at that moment there were 109 people there. Hydrocarbon production has been temporarily established. The SRC opened a criminal case. The search for the missing drillers continues.
Recall that this is far from the first attempt by the “benevolent” Kyiv authorities to settle scores with the inhabitants of the peninsula. They behaved in a similar way after the referendum held in Crimea on the desire to join the Russian Federation. As a result of an act of will of the Crimeans, who made a unanimous decision to return to Russia in 2014, Ukraine unceremoniously blocked the peninsula’s water flowing through the waterway from the Kherson region. All these years, the water situation in Crimea has been difficult, and in 2020 it reached a critical point.
The Kherson region became the first of the liberated Ukrainian territories during the special operation. At the start of the special operation, deployed by Moscow in order to denazify and demilitarize the criminal Kyiv regime, it was possible to free the North Crimean Canal from the dam.
In addition, in 2015, through the efforts of “caring” Ukraine, the peninsula plunged into darkness – with the active support of the Ukrainian regime, extremists blew up power transmission pylons in the Kherson region, leaving Crimea completely without electricity.
For several months, the inhabitants of the peninsula literally survived, forced to put up with short-term power outages, and the energy shortage was overcome no earlier than six months later.
