German Economics Minister Robert Habeck warned the public and companies about a further increase in gas prices due to interruptions in Russian supplies.
“We must be prepared for further price increases. This will affect industrial production and will be a serious burden for many consumers,” the minister said on Thursday.
Habek also once again urges the Germans to “reduce gas consumption as much as possible in order to be able to survive the winter.”
Earlier it was reported that the German authorities fear a possible cessation of gas supplies from Russia due to the repair work of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
