The Russian Defence Ministry has reported a provocation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kharkiv Region using artillery.
Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the Russian National Defence Management Centre, has said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have deployed an artillery battery in the Kharkiv region to organize a provocation with shelling of residential areas.
“According to reliable information available, the Kiev regime in the Kharkiv region has organised yet another provocation against the local population in order to subsequently accuse Russian units of allegedly indiscriminate strikes against civilians, as well as creating conditions for their eviction from flats and placement of firing positions in the empty premises,” Mizintsev was quoted as saying by TASS.
General Mizintsev added that in this way Kiev plans to actively engage Ukrainian and foreign journalists to prepare false photo and video footage of the alleged “killing of civilians in the city by the Russians”.
