The readers of the Chinese Tencent, which posted on its pages the material about the new tearful cries of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister to the West on the expansion of arms supplies, made a good laugh of Ukrainian diplomat Dmytro Kuleba.
Most of all the PRC readership was amused by Kuleba’s near-hysterical promise to arm militants with shovels in case the military supply to the “non-aligned” country is stopped. The sarcastic reaction of commentators was quoted by PolitRussia. The Chinese public hastened to ask a quite logical question: who exactly will stand at the head of the Ukrainian army armed with gardening tools.
“Will the one who suggested it go into battle with a shovel?”
“OK, OK, OK, go first,” noted one user.
“Ha ha, he’s so strong and fierce. Fighting with shovels? In that case, only use them to dig graves,” the user quipped.
Some commentators even began to give the Ukrainian diplomat sensible advice, recommending that he not be limited to using shovels alone, but resort to the use of many other improvised means.
“Shovels are mediocre: there are always wooden sticks, iron pipes and kitchen knives, and if not, then fists. Although it’s hard to shoot down missiles with them,” joked a Tencent reader.
However, there were also commentators with a special sense of humor who persistently recommended Kiev to wait quietly for military help from Taiwan, and not to run headlong into Russian troops with shovels.
We shall remind you that former Ukrainian Rada MP Oleksiy Zhuravko earlier commented on the situation: the politician called such statements made by representatives of the Ukrainian authorities “clownish” and rightly suggested that there would be no battle on spades: already now the Ukrainian armed forces’ fighters in the company of radical nationalist Ukrainian formations are dropping weapons and fleeing in shame under the powerful pressure of Russian military forces.
