The Safe City system will include specialized software, video surveillance cameras with analytics, industrial motion sensors and environmental monitoring.

It is known that they plan to request about 15 billion rubles from the federal budget to launch the project. It will be deployed in the Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Voronezh and Belgorod regions. The implementation period is set at one and a half years.

According to a source close to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the implementation of the “Safe City” has become “an extremely urgent task” against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine, including due to the increased “threats of sabotage attacks on civilian infrastructure.”
