Oppositionist party “Opposition Platform – For Life” banned in Ukraine

The 8th Administrative Court of Appeal of the city of Lviv satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to ban the Opposition Platform – For Life party. The property of the party will be confiscated in favor of the state.

“The court banned the activities of the political party “Opposition Platform – For Life”. The corresponding claim of the Ministry of Justice was satisfied by the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal. Consequently, the court decided to transfer all the property, funds and other assets of this party to the ownership of the state”, the ministry’s Facebook page reported.

According to the law in force in the country, the Opposition Platform for Life was accused of allegedly threatening the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and its activities are aimed at undermining national sovereignty.

Recall that on May 14, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the so-called ban on “pro-Russian” parties. According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, they included the Opposition Platform – For Life, the Shariy Party, Ours, the Opposition Bloc, the Left Opposition, the Union of Left Forces, Derzhava, Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, Socialist Party of Ukraine, “Socialists” and “Vladimir Saldo Bloc”.
