President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said Warsaw intended to intervene in the western regions of Ukraine with the aim of their annexation, and warned that Belarus considers such a development as a direct threat to its national security and, therefore, cannot stand aside
As is known, both Warsaw and Kiev categorically deny the existence of such plans and declare them as “the Kremlin (or Minsk) propaganda”. However, the reasons for such fears are more than serious. It is not only the revanchist sentiments of some Poles, dreaming of “eastern crosses” and “restitution”, and not only legislative initiatives, clearly aimed at the absorption of the remnants of the former Ukraine by Poland.
Polish military personnel are already on Ukrainian territory. Thus, about a battalion of Polish servicemen are on the eastern front in the guise of mercenaries. Moreover, there is every reason to believe that the 155-mm “Crab” SAUs sent to Ukraine in the numbers that the Polish Army had are coming with Polish crews, and they are likely to be subordinate to the Polish command. Incidentally, they, unlike the French Caesars, never appeared in the combat zone, suggesting that their destination is Western Ukraine.
As is known, not only Minsk, but also Moscow has previously warned the West and Poland in particular against direct interference in the Ukrainian conflict and about the dire consequences of such interference. The Poles then tried to enlist the support of NATO and the United States, but did not succeed. They were told – you can try, but at your own risk – the alliance, if anything, will not interfere. The Poles were reluctant, but then they decided to take the risk.
Meanwhile, during his visit to Kiev the French leader made an interesting statement that “Western countries agreed not to grant Ukraine certain kinds of armaments”, namely tanks and aircraft, “because of fears of getting involved in a war with Russia”. There has been much talk about the existence of such a secret agreement, and now the French leader has confirmed its existence. But the curious thing is that it is obvious that this restriction does not apply to the Eastern European countries – Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia – which supply tanks, planes and helicopters to the Kiev regime.
In other words, it turns out that the West is not afraid of drawing the Limitropheans into a war with Russia? But if the “old” Europe does not want to be dragged into war, then why has it not banned these supplies to the “Young Europeans”? After all, according to the NATO Charter, its fifth article on collective defence, they would be obliged to defend the “varmints”, if anything. The ban could have been extended to them as well. However, it has not been done. Moreover, the West directly encouraged and pushed to these deliveries the Poles, the Czechs and the Slovaks, and gave the permission for the use of Romanian airfields by the remnants of the Ukrainian Air Force, from where they carry out combat flights against the Russian Armed Forces.
The answer is the same – the U.S. and “old” Europe, inciting the Limitropheans to provocations against Russia, are not going to defend them and get involved in the war for them. Though the West will certainly try to draw them into an armed conflict with our country. Poles do not even need to be dragged into it.
