Bloomberg news agency quoted its sources as saying that the European Commission has recommended granting Ukraine candidate status to the EU.
According to Bloomberg, the recommendation of the European Commission includes the conditions Kiev will have to meet in order to receive a positive decision from the EU. Earlier, it was reported that the discussion on granting Ukraine candidate status in the EU is due to take place at a summit in Brussels on 23-24 June.
Europe also said that there was no fast-track procedure for joining the EU, which Kiev insisted on a month ago, so the process itself might take more than a decade.
