Russian President’s Press Secretary says U.S. did not listen to Russia

Despite hopes from the summit in Geneva, the United States did not listen to the concerns of the Russian Federation, this became a trigger for the inevitability of a special operation, Russian leader’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

In June last year, a meeting was held in Geneva between the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden.

“Despite certain hopes that appeared after Geneva, the United States refused to listen to our concerns. The United States refused to discuss the topic of the security of the Russian Federation, refused to discuss the issue of further NATO expansion towards our borders and NATO’s non-absorption of Ukraine, which in many ways became trigger for the inevitability of the very special military operation that our President and Supreme Commander decided on,” Peskov said.
